About

Sue CollierI’m a Denver-based writer who began her career in the publishing industry, working for nonprofits in the medical and engineering industries as a production editor. After relocating from the Midwest to Denver in the 1990s, I worked as managing editor for a small trade publisher that specialized in travel, gardening, natural history, education, self-help, and children’s books, among other genres.

After several years on staff, I decided to take the entrepreneurial plunge, and started an editorial, writing, and graphic design business. Ultimately, I began focusing on the self-publishing author, providing editing and consulting services. I also coauthored The Complete Guide to Self-Publishing, 5th Edition (Writer’s Digest Books, 2010).

In 2013, I began splitting my time between editorial work and content writing, and I have grown quite skilled with WordPress, content management systems, and SEO best practices. I have written for myriad industries, including health and wellness, dentistry, medical, billing/coding, history, human interest, outdoors, real estate, home improvement, and others. (Take a look here for some samples.) One of my strong suits is my knack for research and becoming knowledgeable about new topics quickly.

I have a degree in English, and I dabbled in real estate for a while so I am a licensed broker (inactive status). In my spare time, I am a bit of a fitness addict who does CrossFit and boot camp workouts. I also enjoy biking, hiking, reading, and spending time with my young son.
